Well Behaved Women!

Most of you know how I look forward to stamping with my friends, and this last weekend I had a fantastic time at Craft-A-Thon! We met at Woodland Shores Baptist Church and it was a blast. I always end up laughing until my sides hurt!

Getting together with friends is the best part of crafting. I have to say that we were not "Well Behaved Women". Can you imagine, not behaving in church? Well, we are modern women, with modern thoughts and we love to laugh, giggle and tease each other about what we are creating or in some instances, not creating, because it all went wrong! Sometimes we use sarcasm or even words that have two meanings...I'm sure you know what I mean! Anyway, this wasn't the card I made at CAT (it didn't go wrong, but I gave them all away and even forgot to take a picture), but another that I've made because I love the stamp sets and the colors.

These sets are retired Stampin' UP! sets: Mixed Bunch and Favorite Thoughts. Mixed Bunch has just retired this year, but Favorite Thoughts has been retired a long time.

Please pick from the following: What do you do with your old stamp sets?
  1. I kiss them goodbye and can't wait for the new stuff.
  2. I lovingly hold them for a while, see if I'll use them again, and if within a year or two, I don't, off to the garage sale!
  3. I keep them forever and ever, since I can't seem to give them away.
I'd like to take a poll, so, place your answer in the comments below. I would love to see if your answer matches mine!

See you soon,

Daffodil Delight!

I can't wait to get out of the house and work in the garden. Jeez it's been so cold today, it's only 39 right now, can't you see the daffodils shivering! In fact, my sister-in-law, Shirley, said they got snow in Watervliet! I didn't see any here, but, I'm closer to the lake and it might have jumped over us and landed further inland. Once it gets a bit warmer, I'm planning on adding some perennials just to spice up the garden; maybe some fresh herbs that I can dry or freeze (LOL..."spice up the garden"..."freeze"'s already freezing here..."guffaw"). I have to research herb preserving because I've never done it before...can't be too hard, though. Since, I'm trying to change my eating habits, I need to do what I used to do 30-40 years ago and start canning and freezing, again. I used to like doing it, even though it's a lot of work. I always felt that I was providing good wholesome food for my children and as the years went by and life got busier, I gave a lot up because of working as a nurse at the hospital. Well, now, I have more time, and I'm going to try to enjoy all of the fresh food that grows in Southwest Michigan. When it gets warmer, I'll be outside planting some annuals and I might sneak in a tomato plant or two.

See you in the garden,

April Showers Bring...

May Flowers

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year, but this year it is very special for me because I have been given a gift of new life. Last week, I had a heart attack. Huh, didn't think it would happen to me. I have been dealing with lupus for many years and with osteoarthritis, but the heart attack added a new spin to my life. I had a left reverse shoulder replacement on January 26th; retired from my job after 25 years at the hospital on April 4th; then had a short stint at another job then had a heart attack. I think the Lord wants me to stop. I did. Now, to get it together again!

So today, I thought I would get my blog running again. I have one through Stampin' UP!, but it was too much of a pain to get things in and out. I love this blog because it's easier...I hope! So, since, I've been laying around resting, I have also been creating. Let me show you a few things I've been doing.

I love this card, I made this in February, thinking about spring. I used the All Abloom paper and I used the Wonderful Wreath Framelits that are still available and in the Occasions Catalog. I love the color combination of Daffodil Delight and Lost Lagoon!

Isn't this a fun card? This card was the one we were going to make at a technique class on April 11th, but low and behold the heart attack happened on April 9th, so I couldn't do the class. I'll have to show you how to color the glitter paper another time!

I'm in love with the Berry Basket Bigz Die and the From the Garden Framelit Bundle. I love the little plant spikes that you can place in a basket or on a card. Also, I love, love, love the Bow Builder Punch! It is so easy to use and just the right size for cards or baskets.

Easter came along and I made these cute little bunnies for the grandkids! They loved their cards and of course, the money that was in them!

This card was made from left-overs from the Perpetual Calendar Kit that I did last month with a few of my friends from Craft-A-Thon! I used the Star EF along with some star punches and one of the Sale-A-Bration sets and I love the red, white and blue theme. The blue stars were left over from the kit.

Well, that's all I have for you this time. I hope that you'll visit again and see what I've made. I hope you'll follow the link to the Stampin' UP! catalog and have fun with some of the products that I used. You'll be able to order right off of my website.

Take care,
