Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Hello Friends!
It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged and it’s time I get back to it. I started writing this blog yesterday, but had trouble adding pictures. The 4th of July is a special day on the calendar, Independence Day! I love the 4th of July, but in some ways it makes me sad, too. It marks for me, all of the lives lost, and those whom have lived to defend our country. I worry about the soldiers who have come back with PTSD, and all the fireworks during this time.

The Fourth of July also reminds me that this is the middle of summer for those of us living in Michigan. June so rainy, now July is hot and muggy! I don’t mind the weather, as long as, I can go outside in the mornings to enjoy my cup of coffee or two! I enjoyed a cup yesterday outside, but I'm not feeling that good this morning, so I relaxed in front of the TV and caught the news. In the heat of the day I work on stamping and scrap-booking. I have a few pictures to show you what we did on the 4th of July...fun for us, but maybe not so fun for others!

I bought a chair at a shop near here thinking it would be cute on the front porch last winter. Unfortunately, the paint came off and it looked terrible. So, I asked Randy to take the original paint off and to paint it red in a paint that could withstand the changing seasons in Michigan.

Annie relaxing on the swing. She's such a good dog!

I had trouble with these cards...they just weren't coming together as I wanted.

I changed this one because it looked too dark and added the white card base to the card after cutting off the original "Lost Lagoon" paper, then I added a bit of bling, but it still isn't my style. I guess you learn that as you're going along.

Now, this is more my style! I love the dragon fly which pops off of the paper. Underneath is a black stamped dragonfly. I painted the dragonfly with some Wink of Stella-Clear. It shimmers in the light and I added the sparkly pearl as the head.

Isn't this funny! I tried to get a selfie of Randy, Annie and I, but all I got was her snout!
I hope you enjoyed my blog post from the 4th of July. We had fun, even though it was hot!

Gloria

Nice job, since we're "related", and even though we live relatively close we don't get to see you two much. It's nice (besides Facebook) that we can keep in touch with what's going on in the "Stamping World"....LOL. But seriously, it's a great blog.
