We had a lovely weekend, and today is a normal Monday. First, I have to tell you what we did from Friday through Sunday. Randy was home last week, and we had a lot of things to do, but since the weather was beautiful on Friday, we visited the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend, Indiana. We've never been there and I felt good this past week and I was ready to try it with my Knight in Shining Armor! Anyway, it was an enjoyable afternoon. I walked for one hour and fifteen minutes...can you believe it? I haven't been able to do that for a long time. (Thank you Dr. Michael Lee and the University of Chicago along with my Physical Therapist, Heidi, at Lakeland Orthopedic and Physical Therapy. If it wasn't for these talented people, I still wouldn't be walking.)

Anyway, back to the zoo; we saw emus, white tigers, leopards, flamingos, monkeys, parrots, buffalo and many other animals. I am an animal and bird lover, so I had to read the signs and take my time looking at all the animals. My favorite TV shows are on National Geographic. Lately, I've been watching The Incredible Dr. Pol. He's a veterinarian from Weidman, Michigan which is in the lower peninsula in the north central part of the state. He IS incredible! He takes care of small and large animals and has two other vets to help him. I have learned so much about animal care and I think if I hadn't become a nurse, I would have become a vet. It's amazing how he helps animals.

Okay, on with the weekend, Saturday I slept in until 9 AM...that is unusual for me, but I think the zoo wore me out. I was looking forward to Saturday for over a week. It was crafting day with my friends at the Free Methodist Church in Niles, Michigan! The event is called Standing Stones, I don't know why...I will have to ask Joy M. who coordinates the event. This is a small crafting event and starts at noon and runs to 8 PM. Perfect for me, I can't last too much longer. I had a fantastic time with Beth R. and Vonnie R. crafting and chatting about all kinds of things. I got four scrapbook pages done, not the journaling part, I have to do that at home. But the design and title and pictures are attached (you can see a portion on my side of the table).

Sunday, I rested. I wanted to go to church, but I didn't get up until 9:30 AM. Our church starts at 9 AM. My story about church is for another time. Well, that was the weekend, it was fun and exhausting, but as you can see I'm trying to live each day as it comes and to enjoy the good times and nice weather.
Take care,
Gloria
